With a humble beginning in the year 1984, SASTRA progress in the last 36 years is a testimony to its commitment to build a University as envisaged in its guiding model. Today, SASTRA is one of India’s premier institutions offering undergraduate, postgraduate & doctoral programmes in Engineering, Management, Law, Sciences, Humanities and Education. It was conferred Deemed-to-be-University status in 2001 by the University Grants Commission under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. SASTRA also has an MHRD-notified off-campus named Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre (SRC) at Kumbakonam.

Yes. SASTRA University online MBA programmes is not considered a a distance MBA. SASTRA University provides a UGC-approved online MBA programme which is of two years and four semesters and meant for working students. The programme is taught online through live lectures and recorded videos, and has some mandatory assessment criteria.
Sastra University, Chennai, offers MBA through online as well as offline modes. In order to enrol in the online MBA at Sastra, one should fulfil the eligibility criteria of being a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. For a regular MBA, one should have a recognised bachelor’s degree of min 3 years. Preferences will be given to CAT/XAT/AIMAT/CMAT/AIMCAT scores.
